Recently, Tesla has lowered its prices multiple times to boost sales without incurring losses, and the key technology behind this is integrated casting. Through integrated casting, Tesla is able to reduce assembly processes and component numbers, significantly lowering production costs. Recently, Toyota announced that it will also use integrated molding technology to build its future vehicles.

Although Toyota, as a leading Japanese automaker, started relatively late in the global electric vehicle trend, it is vigorously developing electric vehicles through a series of development plans, including new platforms, solid-state batteries, and technology sharing with Subaru, Mazda, and other companies. In terms of cost control, Toyota will use the new Gigacasting technology.

In the future, Toyota's new vehicle production will use Gigacasting technology, which is similar to Tesla's integrated casting technology. According to Toyota's plan, the new vehicle will be divided into three parts: the front, body, and rear, and after casting, it will be sent to the production line for battery and electric motor assembly. This can not only greatly reduce production costs, but also shorten the production time.

According to Toyota's estimates, using Gigacasting technology can reduce R&D costs by more than 50%, while production investment can also be halved. After years of improvement and enhancement, Tesla's manufacturing costs have already been reduced by 50% per vehicle through the use of integrated casting and other technologies, and its profit margin can now compete with Toyota's.
