來自英國的 Land Rover 近日宣佈，其高階車款 Range Rover 與 Range Rover Sport 的部分生產作業將移至印度進行。這一決定具有指標性意義，因為這是 Range Rover 車系首次在海外生產組裝，打破了 JLR 集團長期以來強調的「Solihull 工廠是全球 Range Rover 之家」的傳統觀念。

位於印度孟買近郊的浦那（Pune）工廠是 JLR 集團母公司 Tata 汽車的生產基地之一。該工廠於 2011 年啟用，專門生產 JLR 集團供應印度市場的車型，包括 Land Rover Freelander、Range Rover Evoque 與 Velar、Jaguar F-Pace 以及 Land Rover Discovery Sport。

JLR 的商務總監 Lennard Hoornik 表示，過去幾年，印度經濟穩定成長，未來將會有更多車型在當地製造，確保英國設計的優雅、質感與科技能無折扣地融入印度製造的 JLR 車系中。當然，將車款在當地生產的主要目的是讓車主能夠更快拿到車輛，避免等待數個月的海運時間。

在印度生產的 Range Rover 分為 Autobiography 與 HSE 兩種版本，前者搭載 393 馬力的六缸汽油引擎，後者則使用 346 馬力的六缸柴油引擎。至於 Range Rover Sport，目前僅提供 Dynamic SE 車型，但同樣有上述兩種引擎選擇。Range Rover 負責人 Geraldine Ingham 表示，2024 年以來，Range Rover 車系的銷售表現較去年增長了 160%，預計未來仍會持續增長。

British automaker Land Rover recently announced that some production operations for its high-end models, Range Rover and Range Rover Sport, will be relocated to India. This decision is significant as it marks the first time the Range Rover series will be assembled abroad, breaking the JLR Group's longstanding tradition of emphasizing that the "Solihull plant is the global home of Range Rover."

Located in the suburbs of Mumbai, the Pune plant is one of the production facilities of JLR Group's parent company, Tata Motors. This plant, which opened in 2011, specializes in producing models for the Indian market, including the Land Rover Freelander, Range Rover Evoque and Velar, Jaguar F-Pace, and Land Rover Discovery Sport.

JLR's Chief Commercial Officer, Lennard Hoornik, stated that in recent years, India has experienced stable economic growth, and more models will be manufactured locally in the future. This ensures that the elegance, quality, and technology of British design are seamlessly integrated into JLR models made in India. Naturally, the primary reason for local production is to enable customers to receive their vehicles more quickly, avoiding the several months' wait for shipping from the UK.

The Range Rover models produced in India include the Autobiography and HSE versions, with the former featuring a 393 hp six-cylinder gasoline engine and the latter a 346 hp six-cylinder diesel engine. As for the Range Rover Sport, it currently offers only the Dynamic SE model, but with both engine options mentioned above. Range Rover's director, Geraldine Ingham, stated that since 2024, sales of the Range Rover series have increased by 160% compared to last year, and this growth is expected to continue in the future.
