根據外電報道，在 IAA 展覽期間，Mercedes-Benz 已經正式宣佈 A-Class 的下一代將不再推出，這樣一來，這個曾經廣受歡迎的車型即將謝幕，而著名的 NGCC 車系也將縮減至只剩下 CLA、CLA Shooting Brake、GLA 和 GLB 這 4 款車型。這些車型將採用 MMA 模組化架構，提供電動和傳統汽油引擎動力選擇，也就是所謂的「電改油」車款。

A-Class 的停產消息實在令人惋惜，因為在 2021 年，A-Class 在歐洲、美國和爭國共銷售了 18 萬 4000 輛，相較之下，CLA 和CLA Shooting Brake 僅售出了 7 萬 3000 輛，而 GLA 和 GLB 兩款車型的總銷量仍不及 A-Class。

然而，BMW 和 Audi 並未放棄小型車市場。BMW 仍將推出 1 系列和 2 GC 車型，而 Audi 則承諾推出新一代的 A3。

Although the A-Class from Mercedes-Benz is a popular compact car within the brand, official confirmation has been made that the A-Class will be discontinued with no successor, and the NGCC vehicle series will also be reduced from 7 models to 4.

According to international reports, during the IAA exhibition, Mercedes-Benz confirmed that the current generation of the A-Class will be the last, marking the end of an era for this renowned model. The NGCC (Next Generation Compact Car) series from Mercedes-Benz will now consist of only 4 models: the CLA, CLA Shooting Brake, GLA, and GLB. These four vehicles will be based on the MMA modular architecture and will offer electric and conventional gasoline engine options, often referred to as "electrified gasoline" vehicles.

The discontinuation of the A-Class is a somewhat regrettable decision, considering that in 2021, the A-Class sold 184,000 units in Europe, the United States, and China. In comparison, the combined sales of the CLA and CLA Shooting Brake amounted to only 73,000 units, and the GLA and GLB models together still fell short of the A-Class.

However, BMW and Audi have not given up on the compact car market. BMW will continue to offer the 1 Series and 2 Series Gran Coupe, while Audi has committed to launching a new generation of the A3. This shows the determination of these competitors to remain active in the compact car segment.
